PAVA the Korean American organization with 600 young adult volunteers, and Clean and Green (LA Conservation Corp) will be cleaning the river from the Hyperion Bridge to Los Feliz Boulevard and you are welcome to join us.

We will also be setting up information booths on the grassy area just east of the river in Atwater Village, across the street from the Los Feliz Cafe (the old EATS cafe). 
Both Council President Garcetti and Councilman LaBonge will be speaking at 9 a.m. in this grassy area next to the river. So please come join us.

Everyone is asked to park in Griffith Park's Friendship Auditorium parking lot, 3201 Riverside Drive and walk along the river to Los Feliz Boulevard to the resource fair. After the councilmen speak the clean up will begin. Please distribute the attached flyer to your membership.

Free pertussis vaccinations will be offered at the fair. 
If you are interested, please bring your child’s immunization records.

We urge you to take advantage of the free immunization opportunity.

The Bureau of Sanitation's North Central Yard would like to invite all residents of the North East LA area to come and visit their site on June 4th from 9 am to 3 pm @ 452 N San Fernando Rd. Bring the kids and see what your City Service Sanitation Dept. is all about. 

These events are beneficial to all, education on services, what new items can be placed in the recycle bin, most of all assisting us in identifying items on the streets that don't belong (i.e. Illegally Dumped Bulky Items). Kids can have fun too, with games and giveaways (while supplies last) and FOOD while they enjoy operating the trash trucks.

The City of LA Bureau of Sanitation has expanded CURBSIDE collection for Christmas trees. If your Christmas tree is too big to cut and place it inside the green waste bin, simply place the tree next to your green waste bin on collection day. 

Using your green bin to recycle Christmas tree?

1. REMOVE all ornaments, decorations, tinsels, and stand from the tree
2. CUT tree in pieces to fit into the green bin, and
3. PLACE the tree pieces inside the green bin for regular pick-up on collection day. Collected Christmas trees will be recycled into compost and mulch.Multi-Family Residential Recycling

Residents of multifamily buildings are requested to place their Christmas tree at the curbside on the day of collection by the Bureau of Sanitation.

Those of you who are concerned about the sales of used cars on Los Feliz Boulevard: Councilmember Tom LaBonge needs your testimony at City Hall!  This meeting is to lobby the City Attorney to create a new ordinance that will ban vehicles with "For Sale" signs in their windows from parking on Los Feliz Blvd. and other major city thoroughfares.


Private vehicle owners do have a right to put signs on their cars.  But non-residents are using Los Feliz Blvd. as an informal used car lot.  The LAPD crackdown on November 6 revealed that many of these cars are not owned by private citizens, but by "car flipping" companies; some of the vehicles are unregistered (and cannot be legally conveyed); and the vehicles are often sold to people who cannot legally purchase them -- and while making it even more difficult for honest residents and visitors to find parking.


When we raise our voices together, we make more of an impact than if we each complain, alone:
