LFZ Blvd.: parking, car sales 12/03/2010
Those of you who are concerned about the sales of used cars on Los Feliz Boulevard: Councilmember Tom LaBonge needs your testimony at City Hall! This meeting is to lobby the City Attorney to create a new ordinance that will ban vehicles with "For Sale" signs in their windows from parking on Los Feliz Blvd. and other major city thoroughfares. Private vehicle owners do have a right to put signs on their cars. But non-residents are using Los Feliz Blvd. as an informal used car lot. The LAPD crackdown on November 6 revealed that many of these cars are not owned by private citizens, but by "car flipping" companies; some of the vehicles are unregistered (and cannot be legally conveyed); and the vehicles are often sold to people who cannot legally purchase them -- and while making it even more difficult for honest residents and visitors to find parking. When we raise our voices together, we make more of an impact than if we each complain, alone: Transportation Committee Hearing on Los Feliz Boulevard Used Car Sales Wednesday, December 8 at 2 p.m. Los Angeles City Hall 200 N. Spring Street Room 1010 We encourage you to carpool to city hall but if you need transportation, a van will pick you up at a designated location in the neighborhood.
