Los Feliz Square Community Meeting
Our first ever Los Feliz Square Neighborhood Association community meeting was held at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church this past month. About 65 members, some original founding members and many new members, came together to meet their neighbors and community leaders and to show their support for Los Feliz Square. Thanks to all who joined us to make our first meeting a terrific success.
The meeting focused on ways we could work together to make the neighborhood safer. Several members volunteered to become block/building captains for the Neighborhood Watch program, and we look forward to meeting with them to provide start up materials and answers to questions about the program. If you are interested in becoming a block/building captain for the Neighborhood Watch program, or if you'd like to lend a hand in posting Neighborhood Watch signs at the entry points to the neighborhood, please contact the LFS Board at losfelizsquare@gmail.com.

Community Alert
On Wednesday, May 12th at 6:00PM a public safety meeting was hosted by Councilmember Tom LaBonge with LAPD Capt. Murphy and Northeast Division Detectives and Senior Lead Officers at the Ivanhoe Elementary School Auditorium to address concerns about recent crime trends in Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Franklin Hills and East Hollywood.
Fifteen burglaries were reported in Silver Lake between April 11th and May 11th. A commonality in these occurrences is the manner of attempt and mode of entry into residential dwellings. The burglars rang the front door bell and if the residence appeared to be unoccupied they proceeded to enter the homes through open doors, windows or garages. This crime trend is now spreading to Franklin Hills and Los Feliz. To maintain personal safety and homeland security, community members were advised not to leave windows/doors unlocked or open and to make sure garage doors are always closed. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the LAPD Northeast Station at 213-285-2563.
